This was my second attempt at Cottage on the Cliff, painted two years after the first with a bit more experience under my belt. Still quite a tricky painting, it is one of Colin Bradley’s more advanced workshops that uses 13 pastel pencil colours, but the difference between this version and the original (also shown on this page) is quite marked. At least this time I remembered to put the additional rocks in the sea! I did the painting for a third time in 2021 when I was trying to get back into doing my art again after a difficult 2020. The third version was done using different pastel paper and a different brand of pastel pencils to the first two, just to give it a bit of variety.
