This version of Cottage on the Cliff was my first attempt at this quite tricky painting when I was learning the techniques of pastel pencil art It is one of Colin Bradley’s more advanced workshops that used 13 pastel pencil colours. I found it a lot more difficult than it looked, so I decided to revisit it with a little more experience a couple of years later. I did it for a third time in 2021 when I was trying to get back into doing my art again after a difficult 2020. The third version (also shown on this page) was done using different pastel paper and a different brand of pastel pencils to the first two, just to give it a bit of variety.
