This drawing started out as a doodle based on a photo I’d found. Then it turned into an exercise in doing a smaller drawing and an opportunity to practice drawing water. It also took a few practice side doodles before I was happy enough with some of the elements to commit to doing the drawing. It was the last drawing I did before moving house and even though this is a few years old, I put this drawing into the ‘Latest’ category because it’s still one of the most recent ones I’ve done in graphite pencil. Surprisingly, I didn’t do a lot of art during Covid as I just had too many other things to do to keep myself going – mostly editing work on about a dozen books and magazine issues.
