This pastel painting of a fantasy landscape is one of my development pieces that was painted as I was learning the techniques of pastel pencil art. It was my first attempt at an original piece as opposed to one of the Colin Bradly kits. This was an experimental painting to examine colour combinations, as I had by now acquired a complete set of Faber Castell pastel pencils but hadn’t yet used some of the colours. Plus it gave me a chance to create a science fiction/fantasy landscape. The title refers to a song by Clannad, from their album Legend and the 1980s ITV series Robin of Sherwood, both of which were brilliant.
(You can find more such pieces in my Learning Curve Gallery, which showcases the start of my pastel pencil journey.)
